Dear member and ocean waste friend,
A lot is happening right now in the Support Association Clean Beach Fanø – both digitally and out on the beaches. Here's a quick update on what we're working on and how you can help make a difference.
New Website – Clean, Simple, and Informative
We’ve launched our new website, which provides a clear overview of the association’s work, upcoming events, and how you can support us – either by becoming a member or by making a donation. Support us
New Graphic: How to Collect Ocean Waste on Fanø
We’ve created a new, easy-to-understand graphic that shows how you can collect ocean waste on Fanø in a simple and responsible way. It has been shared in several Danish and German Facebook groups so that both locals and visitors can contribute. You’re more than welcome to share it further!

At the same time, we've created a graphic that shows which types of items should go into the ocean waste bag and which should go into the black waste igloo.

Membership Is Growing – But We’re Not There Yet
We’re happy to see that the number of paying members has increased significantly in recent months – we’ve passed 150 members!
But we still have a way to go to reach our first goal of 300 members, which is necessary to be approved as a tax-deductible association by SKAT (the Danish tax authority).
Feel free to encourage neighbors and friends to become members or to support us with a donation. Support us
We’ve Submitted Our Application to SKAT for Donation Tax Deductions
We’ve just submitted our application to SKAT so that future donations over DKK 200 can be tax-deductible. Now we’re waiting for their response. This approval would be an important milestone for us.
Summer Events in Collaboration with Esmark
Throughout the summer, we’re hosting several events in collaboration with Esmark – including waste collection and outreach activities. It will be both fun and meaningful – and everyone is welcome to join!
Keep an eye on the dates on our website and Facebook page.

The Danish Navy's Marine Environment Watch Campaign – An Important Partner
Ren Strand Fanø collaborates with Havmiljøvogterne (Marine Environment Watch), a nationwide campaign launched and run by the Danish Navy. The campaign aims to protect the marine environment and reduce plastic pollution in and around Danish waters.
The Marine Environment Watch makes it possible for both locals and visitors to actively take part in the fight against ocean waste. They are the ones providing the red plastic bags and sacks distributed to beachgoers and volunteers on Fanø. They make it easy and accessible for everyone to collect waste – and thereby make a tangible difference for our shared marine environment.
Without the support of the Danish Navy and the Marine Environment Watch, our local beach-cleaning efforts would be much more difficult. We owe them a big thank you – both for the materials and for their continued support of our work.
You can learn more – and become a Marine Environment Watch volunteer yourself – at: https://havmiljovogter.dk
Membership Without Using Unioo
The board is aware that Unioo is seen as challenging by some members and non-members. Therefore, we’ve decided that it is now possible to become a member and pay the membership fee via a regular bank transfer instead of using Unioo. If you’d like to do this, please email info@rsf.dk stating that you wish to pay via bank transfer. You will then receive a payment request by email.
